Westminster Education Support Centre is an Independent Primary Public School which aims to inspire all students in a supportive, culturally responsive environment and encourage opportunities for success.
We provide an inclusive curriculum which embraces the Australian Curriculum, the Early Years Framework, ABLEWA, Diana Rigg, ABA, TEACCH and Digital Technologies. In providing an extensive curriculum we collate data on every student to track their progress enabling us to celebrate their successes.
High quality of teaching is evident throughout every classroom, which is gained through investing in every staff members professional learning, a high level of collegiality, staff working as a team, staff taking responsibility to support their colleagues, the sharing of ideas and taking collective responsibility for the success of the school. This ensures continued growth amongst both staff and provides our students with the maximum opportunity for teaching and learning.
We place high value on developing and maintaining strong community links. We hold regular workshops for our parents, engage with a large number of therapy providers, provide practicum’s for students from TAFE and University and have recently become a BeYou school developing a whole community approach to mental health and wellbeing.
Finally, our key priorities are:
- Success for all students
- Excellence in teaching and leadership
- Strong governance and communication
- A safe, supportive and sustainable environment.
